Waterjet & Plasma Profiling… What’s the difference?
Our Plasma cutter uses a high speed ‘hot cut’ process and can NOT cut through flammable materials, whereas the Waterjet machine is considered a ‘cold cut’ process, enabling it to cut through non metallic materials such as plastics, polymers, wood and stone, as well as all the materials the Plasma is capable of cutting.

Plasma Cutting machines are one of the most recognized forms of CNC Technology; which contributed to a revolutionary breakthrough in the metal cutting industry. Plasma cutting produces quality cuts on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and can cut anything from gauge to 40mm thick.
How does it Work?
Plasma profiling has the advantage of improved dimensional accuracy due to the use of Precision Sensors and a highly accurate Servo Motor; which drives the cutting head or torch of the machine into the right position. This feature makes it ideal for trials, one-offs and mass production of identical and replacement parts.

How does it work?
Waterjet profiling is simply high pressure water forced out of a very small hole! Even so, this process would still not be powerful enough for all materials. (This method would only be suitable for matter such as rubber, foam and food) Therefore, depending on the strength and thickness of the material being cut, different levels of garnet abrasive are added to the water. Making it simply a form of cultivated erosion!
By not having a heat affected zone the Waterjet cutter has many advantages over other CNC Cutting machines;

- No Mechanical Stresses caused by other Cutting Methods
- No Heat Affected Zone
It can cut virtually any material to leave a satin smooth edge, making it ideal for detailed designs. Our general working tolerances are +/- 0.25mm. This can be improved depending on customer requirements. The Waterjet is capable of cutting:
