Here at Plowman Brothers we continue to invest in the latest technology which includes installing a UK manufactured state of the art Esprit Automation Laser Cutter. The model boasts 5G acceleration with ground breaking axis speeds, revolutionary CNC interface with advanced visual nesting system. All of this leads to a more precise and intuitive machine which complements our existing HD plasma cutter. The new laser cutter can handle a whole array of aluminium thicknesses and greatly reduces fettling time.
The laser cutter is used at the start of the fabrication process to create parts for our own livestock trailers, containers and agricultural machinery. The components are of the highest quality and can be reproduced to our exact standards time and time again.
We will be exhibiting our range of cultivation machinery at the Cereals 2016 show in Duxford, Cambridgeshire from 15-16th June. If you’re attending and you’d like to talk to us in more detail about your requirements then you can find us on stand 1025.
Plowman Brothers are type approved to produce trailers for Livestock Transport across the EU.
With full European Whole Vehicle Type Approval, our livestock trailers are built to a standard that is accepted across the whole of the EU. We are also experienced in preparing trailers that meet export requirements for livestock transport. These require an extra level of welfare features such as temperature and satellite tracking as well as fans and drinkers. Whilst designed primarily for sheep, cattle and pigs; we can also adapt our trailers for more unusual transportation requirements.
We are currently looking for partners who can promote the Plowman brand across Europe in particular, although we are happy to look beyond as well. If you think you can develop Plowman livestock trailers and livestock containers then please get in touch with us.
Plowman Brothers’ range of Cultivation Machinery maintains our traditional high build quality.
Although we only began to make agricultural machinery a few years ago, we have already won awards for our machines. We have become known as one of the UK’s up and coming manufacturers.
The Plowman 4m trailed Omni-Til TC is semi mounted on a ball and spoon coupling system. This gives the tractor benefit of draft assistance when the going gets tough and also reducing wear and fatigue on a high stress zone.
The Omni-Til mounted is a smaller machine, developed to address the challenges faced by the modern farmer. It is probably the most advanced system on the market today, achieving minimum surface disturbance, cultivation & consolidation in one pass. The complete Omni-Til Trailed system creates outstanding soil structure by working “surface tilth” and “at depth” soil zones individually with little or no mixing. This can help to prevent black grass from spreading.
The Omni-Lift is a heavy duty ‘V’-Form subsoiler with many unique features and is one of the most advanced systems in its class. It is available with SOYL’s precision AutoDepth system and has Plowman CamLock legs as standard. It is available in either a 3 or 5 leg layout. The Omni-Lift also comes with either shear bar or hydraulic auto reset leg protection to suit your soil type.
We also offer a range of machinery for hire.
Tensile Fabric fabrication for either temporary or permanent use can be used in various industries.
There are multiple uses for tensile fabric structures, and many applications in which they could be used. We have designed and worked on projects such as tank covers for use in the waste water industry. As well as this, we have also fabricated large structures built for washing trains. We have 2 of the buildings on site at our York factory which are used for preparation and painting of livestock trailers. You can see some of the projects we’ve worked on here: https://www.plowmanbrothers.com/plowman-engineering/tensile-fabric-fabrication/ .
The portal design offers maximum clear space and there is generally a lower cost in comparison to conventional buildings. There may also be reduced planning implications in many cases due to the relocatable design. They are built with temporary regulations in mind but finished with permanent qualities and features.
Sheets can be removed and replaced with ease giving easy access to plant and equipment and ventilation and insulation options are available.
We supply welding supplies including welding wire, MIG welders, TIG welders and welding torches.
We also supply a range of accessories including welding helmets, argon regulators and torch liner. As well as these we also have galvanising spray, safe solvent spray and a range of welding tips for sale.
Welding gloves are also available for sale as well as other welding PPE such as aprons.
We have a wide range of suppliers including Oxford, Parweld and SWP.

3D Printing is the ideal way to produce prototypes or for assisting with research and development.
This technology that has emerged over the past few years and is now starting to realise its potential.
We have a machine here at Plowman Brothers that is capable of producing components that would be difficult to produce using traditional techniques. In particular, we have found it invaluable in producing prototypes for use in research and development elsewhere in the business; we can also produce ‘one-off’ items to a customer’s design if required.
